WORKOUT: Leg killer + MyProtein Review

Anyone else eating a bunch of chocolate and other good stuff this Easter? Well, I hope so, otherwise I’m feeling frustrated :-P.
Today I want to share with you my number one LEG and BUM WORKOUT, which is a real killer by the way. This workout includes 10 exercises. You perform each exercise 3 x 30 seconds with a short break in-between. All you need is a yoga mat, a kettle bell (9kg), a barbell (15kg) and ankle weights.

For example:

  • 30 seconds exercise 1
  • 15 seconds rest
  • 30 seconds exercise 1
  • 15 seconds rest
  • 30 seconds exercise 1
  • 1 minute break
  • 30 seconds exercise 2
  • 15 seconds rest
  • 30 seconds exercise 2
  • 15 seconds rest
  • 30 seconds exercise 2

and so on…

WORKOUT: Leg Killer

  1. Glute Bridge
  2. Squat + Side Kick
  3. Jump Lunges
  4. Kettlebell Swing
  5. Burpees
  6. Deep Squat with kettle bell
  7. Reverse Lunge (last round: holding each leg in a deep lunge for 15 seconds)
  8. Donkey Kicks with ankle weights (last round: holding each leg in kick position for 15 seconds)
  9. Inner leg X (laying flat on your back, legs are stretched and vertically upwards, crossing your feet alternating)
  10. Squat with barbell

If you’re not sure how to perform certain exercises, you can either look them up on YouTube or something or ask me in the comments.

When my workout focusses mainly on muscle work not cardio and includes weights, I really like to drink a PROTEIN SHAKE afterwards. Some people like to drink them prior but I don’t know why, but I just prefer drinking it after my training… maybe because I have the illusion that my butt grows faster with this method :-P. However, I recently tested a vegan protein blend by MyProtein as well as several other products such as a crunchy cashew butter (amazing!), organic maca powder, organic cacao nibs and organic cacao liquor buttons. The vegan blend is free of dairy and soy and is made of rice, pea and hemp protein. The nutritional values are excellent! One scoop of the unflavored version (approximately 30g) contains 25g protein, 1,6g fat, 1,4g carbohydrates and 0,45g salt.

Regarding the taste, I tried the chocolate flavor and for me it’s a bit too sweet to be honest. But I guess I’m just a bit over-sensitive as I don’t like really sweet things in general. My boyfriend likes it though, so I think it really depends on your personal taste. If you are more like me, I recommend the unflavored version as you can sweeten it with a banana or something like that. The crunchy cashew butter is very delicious! I love to add it in my oatmeal or eat it with fruits. Also the cacao nibs and the SUGARFREE cacao liquor buttons (how amazing?! I didn’t even know something like that even exists) are great and a great addition to every dessert etc. A new ingredient to all my smoothies is the organic maca powder, which is a superfood and very high in copper and Vitamin C.
