Fit in Vienna – Fitnessdiary & Tips

When it comes down to fitness, Vienna has a lot to offer. Not only that there is a huge offer of gyms and other indoor fitness activities e.g. Yoga, Pilates, Boxing, this city also provides a lot of options if you want to workout outdoor and for free. I want to give you an overview of my WEEKLY WORKOUT ROUTINE combined with a selection of what you can do if you want to get sporty in Vienna. As a small note I’d like to add that this is my personal style of how I like organise my workouts. I’m not saying that this is working for everyone or the best way to loose weight or whatever. I also have to admit that this amount of training is not possible for me. Sometimes it’s just two times and week and then I manage to workout five times. Just use this as a kind of inspiration for new ways of staying active in Vienna.

I like starting the week with a so called bums-tums-and-legs (“Bauch-Beine-Po”) workout. I either do this with a full body workout by Kayla Itsines or just put together some of my favorite exercises for this specific body parts. Sometimes I do this workout at home or go to my gym (Clever fit Döbling), depending on my mood and available time.

Tuesday is Crossfitday! I usually visit my Crossfit gym once a week as it’s a good addition to my usual workout routine. I mentioned this gym already on my blog and Instagram as I’m a huge fan and love to workout there. I can only recommend booking a free trial lesson and get to know this crazy but extremely fun world of Crossfit. Here is the link to my Crossfit gym: Crossfit Pantheon

Restday. Simple take a walk at one of those beautiful green places in Vienna for example alongside the Danube River, the Danube Canal in the heart of Vienna, Prater avenue, Bisamberg at the edge of Vienna and through the vineyards in Neustift (19th district).

HIIT or Cardio day. I recently discovered the youtube videos from Bodykiss, which are great if you prefer HIIT training instead of cardio. I have to admit that I’m really not a fan of doing cardio, so I’d rather do some intense and effective HIIT workouts.

TRX is one of my favorites as it really works your deeper muscles and combines strength and endurance. If you’re looking for the perfect TRX personal trainer then I highly recommend you my friend Christian from WE MAKE YOU FIT. Hands down, he is the best when it comes to TRX training, but you have to be aware that he is pushing you to your limits ;-).

Restday and maybe some stretching or Yoga.

There is no real plan for Sunday. I just do what I feel like doing for example some exercises for the back or lower body (booty building is always a good idea :-)) or just go for a long walk.

I hope this little overview gave you a bit of an inspiration of how you could modify your workout schedule. Also don’t forget that you don’t necessarily need a gym membership to train. The city is your playground :-).

My whole outfit (except the shoes which are from Nike) is from the current sport collection by HUNKEMÖLLER. The fabric and texture are amazing and I really like the pattern and colour as well. If you haven’t taken a look yet, than I recommend you to do so right now 🙂
